The Board

Dr Alan McClure, OBE, has a wealth of business experience, gained over many years, primarily in the manufacturing and service industries.

Having seen the growth of Perfecseal Ltd from a small Northern Ireland sterile medical packaging company to an International leader in its field and managing a successful sale and transition to the BEMIS Corporation of Minneapolis, USA, he retired in 2002.

Since then he has acted as Chairman or Non-Executive director in a number of local, national and international companies. Awarded an OBE and honorary Doctorate from the University of Ulster for services to industry, he sees the opportunity in Alpha as one of the most exciting he has encountered in a long, varied business career.

Stephen is an innovative entrepreneur and has been with the company since its conception in 1992. He became Managing Director of Alpha Environmental in 2002 and has now taken on the roll of Regional Manager for Ireland, overseeing the management of operations and our customer base within the region.

His vast experience in the industry is complimented by a range of professional qualifications including an HND in Mechanical Engineering, INI Marketing & International Marketing Certificates and an Excelus Business Leaders Certificate which was awarded in 2008.

Gerard started his employment with Alpha Environmental as Business Development Executive in 2003 and after a few years with the company was promoted to the position Director of Sales & Marketing. He developed and implemented a very successful sales strategy which has helped the company grow into a market leading remediation company in the UK and Irish markets.

Gerard was invited onto the board in January 2007 as Sales & Marketing Director and has assumed overall responsibility for the running of the sales, marketing and customer services departments.

Gerard has a degree in Business Studies with Marketing and an MSc in Computing & Information Systems. He has since completed several courses in sales, marketing and management and will be undertaking his professional qualifications in 2009.

With a HTEC in Chemistry and BSc Colour Chemistry, Roger has over twenty five years of experience in the remediation and waste treatment industries in the private sector, with previous employers including Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, Miller Environmental and Terra Vac (UK).

His extensive project management experience and leadership over multidiscipline teams has ranged from the design of award winning treatment units to the QA and production of reporting systems and templates within the company.

Stephen Calow joined Alpha Environmental in June 2009 and has been appointed to the Board as Financial Director.  Stephen has accumulated twenty five years at all levels of management, working in a number of diverse sectors, in varying sizes of companies.

Through possessing such an abundance of experience, Stephen brings a sufficiency of attributes to Alpha Environmental to help support it's growth and strategic development as well as ensure leadership is provided in all areas of financial management within the company.
